Duane Baughman
Partner
Duane is a nationally recognized media and strategic consultant for industry, organizations, and political campaigns. In 2020, Duane, along with Katie, successfully led Davidon Homes’ Magee Preserve project through the entitlement process and Planning Commission and Town Council approvals. Duane was the top strategist on Caruso Affiliated’s development project in Carlsbad where he oversaw all elements of the project’s strategy and paid media, and he has served as the lead on corporate campaigns for clients such as AAA, Ford, SoCAL Edison, and Con Edison.

Katie Merrill
Partner
Katie combines extensive experience with a track record of success in leading and winning public affairs and communications campaigns. Katie spearheaded the multi-pronged strategy for Davidon Homes successful 2020 land development project in Danville, CA, and, with Duane, planned and implemented the paid, earned, and grassroots communications strategy that secured a unanimous city council vote for Caruso Affiliated. Katie has successfully designed educational, persuasion, informational and crisis communications for corporations and organizations across the country, including the U.S. Travel Association, Stanford University, SeaWorld, and California AT&T.

Kerry Mullen
Project Manager
Kerry is the chief project facilitator. She works alongside Katie and Duane to craft winning messaging and strategy for GREENLIT’s top clients and brings years of overseeing complex client projects from start to finish. Kerry served as frontline manager for Davidon Homes’ year-long Magee Preserve land development project, overseeing all aspects of the project and coordinating dozens of moving parts to successfully guide the project through regulatory approval and a referendum.

David Bowlby
Strategic Partner
David is the founder and President of the Bowlby Group, Inc. Operating a full-service issue advocacy firm, he leverages a multidisciplinary array of expertise including communication, crisis management, community outreach, press, government relations, and land use entitlement for real estate development clients. Prior to starting his own company, David served as Vice President of Corporate Strategic Government Alliances at Safeway Inc. Working throughout the United States, he formulated and implemented special projects and strategies with an emphasis on land use issues, political initiatives/referendums and advocacy of decision makers. Over the last 15 years, David has spearheaded successful approval of multiple and complex land-use projects including residential mixed use, multi-family and single-family projects, as well as commercial development projects.
